Valentine Kid's Litter
Darin's Insight on Valentine Kid's Litter - This album was recorded over the course of 1993-1994. Some people claim that this was not a true full-length album because it was recorded over time and not all at once.
We never set out to record Valentine Kid's Litter, instead what happened was over the course of that year we travelled to Chester,NY several times recording the songs in bunches as we wrote them.
In the end, we ended up with 2-3 demo tapes with all the songs which eventually Theologian records agreed to release as one recording. Personally, I view it as a true full-length record. not that anyone really gives a shit, I just needed something interesting to write to take up some space here, ha!

Survived By
(Tracy's Insight on 'Survived By' - What most people don't know is this album was written on two different coasts. All of the band but me was living in NY and I was in Seattle. We would send practice tapes back and forth and I would add lyrics and vocals to their stuff while they turned my low fi guitar and vocal tracks into giant rock anthems...ha !
We never wrote any of these songs while all in the same room together. I would fly back to the east coast and we would then fine tune everything. Hearing them loud, all together for the first time is by far some of my favorite band memories.God, to finally hear these songs come together was a very emotional moment for me.
A little back info: I had moved to Seattle to run away from problems which ended more or less being inside me all along. Oops. I was working for CZ records but in overall had started a new life there from scratch.I knew very few people and felt very far from home. I faced two deaths in the family while I was out there and in many ways, Dahlia Seed was my place to grieve, my instant connection to what felt comforting and most like home. It would not be far from the truth to say this band kept me sane and gave me a good reason to want to move forward and well...survive.)
