Hullo all, Lot's going on, first things first: I changed the name of this project from CalicoGhostTown to Ringfinger. A) I don't want to deal with the actual tourist location called Calico Ghost Town being upset that I borrowed their name and B) Back in the mid 90's I released a few solo records under the name of Ringfinger so it seemed logical to just stick to that. Yup, Ringfinger it is.

Over the holiday season a total of 6 songs were recorded and are pretty darn close to finished. Three tracks were done at the Sound of Music studio here in Richmond, Va. ( http://www.soundofmusic.org/ ) Cam multitasked by both playing on top of and engineering everything and then we were also graced with the talents of Jonathan ( Denali / Engine Down ) playing drums on two of them! I am crazy excited about all of it but wait until you hear Cam sing. I love and hate that man for having the ability to seemingly play every instrument flawlessly no less have a vocal style Serge Gainsbourg might be jealous of. It was then off to Boston for a week in December where the next three songs were finished at Stephen's home studio in charming and snowy Somerville, Ma. For 5 days straight we worked like mad and finished up a trio of songs that hands down are my favorite material Steve and I have ever recorded ! Not one of the mp3s found on this site are what we recorded so expect these new songs to sound totally different as well. We have joked about trying to explain what it sounds like and dream-doom is our answer. I was also lucky enough to get a sneak peak of some of Stephen's solo stuff and it rules so look for something new from him this year as well! ( http://www.cavein.net/ ) Lastly I must confess that the Converge / Cave In supergroup called Virgin promises to be another sure METAL favorite for 2005.

A few odds and ends: In the works right now is a track being added to by the one and only Oktopus aka 1/3 of Dalek and they have a brilliant cd coming out Jan. 25th on Ipecac records.( http://www.deadverse.com/ ) There are still about 6 more songs to be completed and I will announce more details on those as they start to happen. I still have a few pictures to put up from my trip to Boston so look for those in about a week.
