A happy Spring it is. Why you ask ? Besides all this sunshiny goodness and green, the Ringfinger recording continues to blossom as well! The lovely folks at Sound of Music Studio ( www.soundofmusic.org ) found some open time for Cam, Jonathan and I to sneak back in and re-record the three tracks we lost. We have two done with one left / in the works and I didn't think I would be saying this but losing the songs worked in our favor because these versions are 10x better. In your face fate. There was even a week of time lost due to me having strep throat but we still managed to eek these songs out....woohoo !
So lets see, a run down of the tracks in so far and just in need of some mixing:
1) Joy Lingers w/ Stephen Brodsky
2) Mining For Diamonds w/ Stephen Brodsky
3) Death Star w/ Stephen Brodsky
4) Typewriter Tourist w / Cam Dinunzio
5) Four Misused Letters w/ Cam Dinunzio and Jonathan Fuller
6) Waving Good-bye w/ Aaron Turner and Cam Dinunzio
7) Miss Me w/ Oktopus and Barry London
Thats about half the songs with approx 6 more to go.
I also have a new two new guest artists to add to the list of Ringfinger associates and I couldn't be any more excited. A few years ago Justin Bailey of Delegate ( www.delegatemusic.com ) and I recorded a song together called Elegant Excuse which even in its demo form sounded pretty darn swell. Around the same time a man by the name of Nyles Lannon put out a record on Badman Recordings ( www.badmanrecordingco.com ) under the name N. Lannon (http://www.nlannon.com/ ) that quickly became one of my favorite cds of last year. ("Chemical Friends" made my top 10 of 2004!) Anyhow, as it turned out Justin and Nyles are not only friends but played a show together where I was introduced to Nyles. With all my bad luck a bunch of really great things have happened too and having Justin and Nyles record a track with me is indeed very good luck.
